Self-Employment Assistance (SEA) Funding

SEA Funding help unemployed or underemployed persons secure the support they need to start and support their own business.

The NunatuKavut Business Centre, in partnership with NunatuKavut Community Council offers a Self-Employment Assistance (SEA) program to members who are unemployed or underemployed (working less than 20 hours per week) and starting a new business. The Self Employment Assistance (SEA) allows participants to concentrate on making their new business succeed.

Eligibility

The benefit shall be applied for no later than 6 months after the start of the business. Applicants must be members of NunatuKavut Community Council, working full-time toward the business, and must provide a professional business plan upon completion of the program. Clients are also expected to provide activity reports for the duration of the program. To apply for membership, please go to www.nunatukavut.ca or call 709.896.0592.

What to Expect

Self-Employment Assistance shall not exceed 8 months and the benefit shall not exceed a maximum amount of $8,000.
